Wild Recalls Wyatt Smith

by Staff Writer / Minnesota Wild

The Minnesota Wild recalled center Wyatt Smith on Saturday, after placing center Jason Morgan on injured reserve. Morgan was injured in Tuesday’s 3-1 loss to the Sharks in San Jose, and he underwent surgery on to relieve bleeding in his thigh on Wednesday.

Smith joined the Wild on Saturday, prior to the team facing the Los Angeles Kings for the first of two games in two days. Smith will not play against the Kings, but he will be available should the Wild need his services on Sunday against the Anaheim Ducks.

In 12 games with the Houston Aeros, Smith has three goals and four assists to go along with 12 penalty minutes. Smith played three games with Minnesota earlier in the season and did not register a point.
