Wild Recalls Scandella

by Carly Peters / Minnesota Wild

The Wild recalled defenseman Marco Scandella from the AHL's Houston Aeros late this afternoon. Minnesota seemed to finally be getting healthy on the blue line, but Clayton Stoner missed last night's contest after suffering a lower-body injury Sunday against the Sabres and Cam Barker suffered an upper-body injury in last night's win against the Avalanche. Barker did not make the trip to Nashville, while Stoner remains questionable for Thursday's contest.

The recall marks Scandella's third call up of the season. The 21-year-old made his NHL debut Nov. 12 at Florida and has two assists and two penalty minutes in 16 games with the Wild this season. The 6-foot-3, 217-pound native of Montreal, Que., has recorded 19 points (3-16=19) and 17 PIM in 33 games with the Aeros this season. Scandella was originally selected by the Wild in the second round (No. 55 overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
