Wild recalls John Scott from AHL Houston

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled defenseman John Scott from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL) and placed right wing Marian Gaborik on Injured Reserve.


Scott, 26 (9/26/82), has not appeared in an NHL regular season game. The 6-foot-8, 258-pound native of St. Catharines, Ont., has two goals and 82 PIM in 26 games with the Aeros this season. Scott suffered an injury in the Wild’s pre-season game at Columbus on Oct. 3 and appeared in his first game with the Aeros on Nov. 7. Scott has 11 points (6-5=11) and 371 PIM in 153 games in three seasons with Houston. Scott played college hockey at Michigan Tech.

The Wild originally signed him as a free agent on December 31, 2006. Scott will wear No. 36 with Minnesota.
