The Wild has recalled goaltender Johan Gustafsson from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL). The team also announced it has released center David Steckel from his professional tryout.

Gustafsson has not appeared in a preseason game for Minnesota this season. The 21-year-old went 20-13-0 with a 1.70 GAA and a .929 save percentage in 33 games for Lulea HF in Sweden’s Elite League last season. Gustafsson was selected by the Wild in the sixth-round (159th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He wears sweater No. 31 with Minnesota.

Steckel, 31, appeared in two preseason games with the Wild.
