Wild recalls Benoit Pouliot from AHL Houston

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center/left wing Benoit Pouliot (BEHN-wah, POO-lee-ott) from the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Houston Aeros.


Pouliot, 21 (9/29/86), played in three November games with the Wild, recording two shots on goal. Pouliot ranks seventh on the Aeros’ roster with 24 points (10-14=24) and fifth with 67 PIM. He also has three power play goals. Pouliot appeared in three games last season with the Wild, while accumulating 36 points (19-17=36) and 109 PIM in 67 games with the Aeros. The 6-foot-3, 199-pound native of Alfred, Ont., was Minnesota’s first-round pick (No. 4 overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Pouliot will wear No. 67 with the Wild. Pouliot made his NHL debut with the Wild at Montreal on Nov. 22, 2006.
