Wild reassigns Peter Olvecky to Houston

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned center/left wing Peter Olvecky to the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Houston Aeros. Olvecky will join the Aeros for the Calder Cup Playoffs, which begin tonight in Peoria.


Olvecky, 23 (10/11/85), tallied seven points (2-5=7) in 31 games with Minnesota in his rookie season. He posted 23 points (6-17=23) in 41 games with the Aeros earlier this season. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound native of Nove Zamky, Slovakia, is in his fourth season with Houston, totaling 115 points (49-66=115) and 171 penalty minutes in 239 games. Olvecky was the Wild’s third-round pick (No. 78 overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He was originally recalled on January 28.
