The Wild has assigned goaltender Johan Gustafsson and defenseman Tyler Cuma to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Gustafsson appeared in one period of last night's preseason game against the St. Louis Blues. The 21-year-old went 20-13-0 with a 1.70 GAA and a .929 save percentage in 33 games for Lulea HF in Sweden’s Elite League last season. Gustafsson was selected by the Wild in the sixth-round (159th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He wears sweater No. 31 with Minnesota.

Cuma did not appear in any preseason games for Minnesota. The 23-year-old recorded 12 points (1-11=12) and 14 penalty minutes (PIM) in 42 games with the Houston Aeros in the American Hockey League (AHL) last season. The 6-foot-1, 194-pound native of Toronto, Ont., owns 25 points (2-23=25) and 77 PIM in 146 career AHL matches during three seasons with Houston. He was originally selected by the Wild in the first-round (No. 23 overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
