SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned goaltender Nolan Schaefer to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Schaefer, 28 (1/15/80), was recalled from the Aeros on Tuesday -- his fourth trip to the Wild this season without appearing in a game. Schaefer, who represented the Aeros at the AHL All-Star Classic last month, is 16-11-0 with a 2.16 GAA and a .922 save percentage in 28 games for the Aeros this season. Schaefer is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound native of Yellow Grass, Sask. He was San Jose’s fifth-round pick (No. 166 overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Minnesota signed Schaefer as a free agent on July 3, 2007. Schaefer is 5-1-0 with a 1.88 GAA in seven career NHL games -- all with San Jose.
