Iowa Wild 2014-15 Record: 0-2-0-0, 0 points, Fifth Place in West Division

The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, dropped two road games to start the season. The Wild suffered a 3-2 loss in its first contest at San Antonio on Friday (10/10). Forwards Tyler Graovac and Jordan Schroeder each tallied two assists while D Jon Blum and F Michael Keranen each scored a power-play goal. G Johan Gustafsson stopped 36-of-39 shots. Iowa lost its second match 4-2 against the Texas Stars on Saturday at Cedar Park Center (10/11). Forwards Brady Brassart and Graovac each scored while Blum earned two assists and G John Curry made 32 saves. Blum (1-2=3), Graovac (1-2=3) and Schroeder (0-3=3) lead the Wild in scoring with three points apiece. Keranen follows with two points (1-1=2) in two games. The Wild will return home with back-to-back games against the Milwaukee Admirals on Friday and Saturday.

Canadian Hockey Leagues

C Reid Duke - Brandon (WHL): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft has two assists and six PIM in five games with the Wheat Kings.

D Tanner Faith - Kootenay (WHL): Minnesota's fifth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft ranks tied for fourth amongst defensemen on the team with two assists.

D Dylan Labbe - Shawinigan (QMJHL): The fourth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft for Minnesota is ranked first amongst defensemen on the team in goals.

C Pavel Jenys - Sudbury (OHL): Minnesota's seventh-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft is tied for second on the Wolves in goals and tied for fourth with three points.

C Chase Lang - Calgary (WHL): The sixth-round pick for Minnesota in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft leads the Hitmen in scoring, goals and is tied for first with two power-play goals.

D Hunter Warner - Prince Albert (WHL): The defensemen signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Minnesota in September and currently ranks third on the Raiders in penalty minutes.

College/USHL/High School

D Louis Belpedio - Miami University of Ohio (NCHC): Minnesota's third-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft is in his freshman season with the REdhawks and ranks first amongst defensemen on the team in goals and second in scoring.

D Nolan De Jong - Michigan (Big Ten): The Wild's seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft is in his second season with Michigan.

D John Draeger - Michigan State (Big Ten): Minnesota's third-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft will open the season with Michigan State this weekend with back-to-back games against Massachusetts.

C Adam Gilmour - Boston College (Hockey East): The Wild's fourth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft is in his second season with Boston College.

LW Mario Lucia - Notre Dame (Hockey East): The second-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft for Minnesota recorded a goal and four penalty minutes in two games last week and is tied for first on the team in scoring.

LW Louis Nanne - Rensseleaer Polytechnic Institute (ECAC): Minnesota's seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft is in his freshman season at RPI and recorded two shots in two games already.

C Avery Peterson - Nebraska Omaha (NCHC): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft is in his first season with Nebraska-Omaha and recorded five shots on goal in the Mavericks' first two games.

D Carson Soucy - Minnesota Duluth (NCHC): Minnesota's fifth-round selection in 2013 NHL Entry Draft is ranked tied for first on the team in assists and tied for third in scoring.

RW Alex Tuch - Boston College (Hockey East): The Wild's first-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft recorded his first assist as an Eagle in Boston College's season opener loss.


Europe

C Christoph Bertschy - SC Bern (Swiss): Minnesota's sixth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft is in his fourth season with SC Bern and ranks tied for third on the team in assists.


Goaltenders

Alexandre Belanger - Rouyn-Noranda (QMJHL): The Wild's seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft has posted a 3-1-0 record in four games, earning a shutout in his second start of the season with 17 saves.

Steve Michalek - Harvard (ECAC): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft has yet to open his season with Harvard, and will do so on November 1 against Dartmouth.
