Iowa Wild 2014-15 Record: 2-7-0-0, 4 points, Fifth Place in West Division



The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, went 1-2-0 in three road games last week. The Wild earned a 4-2 victory over first place Milwaukee on Wednesday (10/29). C Jordan Schroeder led the team with two assists. Forwards Marc Hagel and Zack Mitchell each netted power-play goals while F Michael Keranen and D Danny Syvret also scored. G Johan Gustafsson stopped 37-of-39 shots. Iowa suffered a 5-3 loss in its first match against Oklahoma on Saturday (11/1). Hagel (2-0=2), F Brady Brassart (0-2=2) and F Ryan Walters (1-1=2) tallied two points apiece while Gustafsson made 19 saves. The Wild dropped its second contest against the Barons, 4-2, on Sunday (11/2). Keranen and F Zack Phillips each netted a goal and Gustafsson stopped 30-of-34 shots. Schroeder ranks T-7th in the AHL in scoring and leads the Wild with 10 points (3-7=10). F Tyler Graovac ranks second with seven points (1-6=7) and Keranen (3-3=6) ranks third with six points. Gustafsson is 2-5-0 with a 3.49 GAA and a .891 SV% in seven games and G John Curry is 0-2-0 with a 3.47 GAA and a .882 SV% in three games. The Wild returns home for a three-game homestand hosting Rockford (Thurs.) and Chicago (Sat., Sun.).

Canadian Hockey Leagues

C Reid Duke - Brandon (WHL): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft recorded three points (1-2=3), a plus-3 rating and two PIM in three games last week.

D Tanner Faith - Kootenay (WHL): Minnesota's fifth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft tallied an assist and five PIM in one game and leads Kootenay in PIM.

D Dylan Labbe - Shawinigan (QMJHL): The fourth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft for Minnesota recorded an assist in three games last week and ranks T-1st amongst defensemen on the team in scoring and T-2nd in goals.

C Pavel Jenys - Sudbury (OHL): Minnesota's seventh-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft tallied two points (1-1=2) and four PIM in three games last week.

C Chase Lang - Calgary (WHL): The sixth-round pick for Minnesota in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft leads the Hitmen in scoring, T-2nd in power-play goals (2) and third in goals and assists.

D Hunter Warner - Prince Albert (WHL): The defensemen signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Minnesota in September and recorded his second assist of the season and four PIM in three games last week.

College/USHL/High School

D Louis Belpedio - Miami University of Ohio (NCHC): Minnesota's third-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft tallied eight shots on goal as Miami split its weekend series at University of Minnesota Duluth.

D Nolan De Jong - Michigan (Big Ten): The Wild's seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft recorded first two assists of the season as Michigan lost its weekend series at Michigan Tech.

D John Draeger - Michigan State (Big Ten): Minnesota's third-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft appeared in his first two games of the season, tallying four shots as Michigan State split its weekend series against Ferris State.

C Adam Gilmour - Boston College (Hockey East): The Wild's fourth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft recorded four shots and two PIM as Boston went 1-0-1 in its weekend series at Denver.

LW Mario Lucia - Notre Dame (Hockey East): The second-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft for Minnesota tallied two goals and two PIM as the Fighting Irish went 1-0-1 in their weekend series against Vermont and was named Hockey East/Warrior Player of the Month for October.

LW Louis Nanne - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (ECAC): Minnesota's seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft recorded two points (1-1=2) and four PIM as the Engineers won their home-and-home series.

C Avery Peterson - Nebraska Omaha (NCHC): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft scored his first collegiate goal against Hayden Stewart in Omaha’s 2-1 win at Cornell.

D Carson Soucy - Minnesota Duluth (NCHC): Minnesota's fifth-round selection in 2013 NHL Entry Draft tallied an assist and four PIM in two games as the Bulldogs split its weekend series vs. Miami.

RW Alex Tuch - Boston College (Hockey East): The Wild's first-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft recorded five shots on goal in Boston’s weekend series at Denver… T-2nd on the team with Gilmour in scoring and goals.

Europe

C Christoph Bertschy - SC Bern (Swiss): Minnesota's sixth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft ranks T-4th on the team in assists and T-6th in points.

D Pontus Sjalin - Leksands IF (Sweden): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft played his first two games with Leksand last week.

Goaltenders

Alexandre Belanger - Rouyn-Noranda (QMJHL): The Wild's seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft ranks fourth amongst goalies in the QMJHL in GAA, T-4th in shutouts, 11th in SV% and T-13th in wins.

Steve Michalek - Harvard (ECAC): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft started Harvard’s first game of the season, stopping 29-of-32 shots as the Crimson tied Dartmouth 3-3 in its home opener.
