HOUSTON AEROS: (45-22-2-3, 1st place West Division) – The Peoria Rivermen used five power play goals to hand the Houston Aeros an 8-2 loss at Carver Arena on Tuesday…C Patrick O’Sullivan and LW Peter Olvecky each scored late in the third period, and RW Kirby Law added an assist to become the 95th player in the 70-year history of the AHL to reach 100 points…G Miroslav Kopriva stopped 12-of-16 shots before being replaced in the second period by G Seamus Kotyk…Houston is now winless in its last seven (0-5-1-1) games and remains one point behind idle Milwaukee in the West…Jim Fahey snapped a tie midway through the third period and Mike Smith made 36 saves as the Iowa Stars rallied for a 4-3 victory over the Aeros at Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday…Law had a goal and two assists and D Clayton Stoner and LW Roman Voloshenko scored first period power play goals…Kotyk made 29 saves…Pat Dwyer scored twice and Michael Garnett made 32 saves as the Chicago Wolves knocked the Aeros out of first place with a 4-2 victory at Allstate Arena on Friday…D Scott Ferguson and LW Bill Kinkel each scored and Kotyk stopped 24 shots for Houston…The Aeros had been in first place for 141 straight days since November 2…Mark Giordano scored a power play goal and added the deciding sudden death shootout goal, and Brent Krahn made 34 saves, as the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights held off Houston 5-4 at Omaha Civic Auditorium on Thursday…Voloshenko, Law and Olvecky each posted a goal and an assist for Houston…RW Matt Foy also scored, O’Sullivan added two assists and Kopriva made 31 saves…Law (38-62=100) leads the AHL in scoring with 100 points…O’Sullivan ranks third in the AHL with 43 goals and tied for fourth in scoring with 82 points (43-39=82)…The Aeros complete a five-game road at Omaha on Friday and then host Peoria in back-to-back home games on Saturday and Sunday…Peoria is six points behind Houston in third place.

C Kyle Bailey - Portland (WHL): Finished the regular season with 18 goals and 35 assists for 53 points in 66 games with Portland, ranking fourth on the team in scoring and third in assists. Scored two goals and three assists through three playoff games.

LW Patrick Bordeleau - Val-D’Or (QMJHL): Finished the season with 23 goals and 33 assists for 56 points in 67 games with Val-D’Or, ranking fifth on the team in scoring. Scored game-winner in Val-D’Or’s first playoff game.

D Riley Emmerson - Tri-City (WHL): Finished the season with one goal and one assist in 66 games. Is scoreless in two playoff games.

LW Matt Kassian - Kamloops (WHL): Finished the season with five goals and six assists for 11 points in 67 games with Kamloops, which did not qualify for the playoffs.

LW Benoit Pouliot - Sudbury (OHL): Finished the regular season with 35 goals and 30 assists for 65 points in 51 games with Sudbury. Led the team in goals and plus/minus rating (+23), and was second in scoring. Scored five goals and one assist through three playoff games.

D A.J. Thelen - Prince Albert (WHL): Scored 13 goals and 23 assists for 36 points in 72 games for Prince Albert, which did not qualify for the playoffs. Signed an amateur tryout contract with the Houston Aeros.


D Anthony Aiello - Boston College (Hockey East): Has eight assists in 38 games during freshman season with B.C. The Eagles will face North Dakota in the Frozen Four semifinal on April 6.

RW Mike Erickson - Western Michigan (CCHA): Scored nine goals and nine assists for 18 points in 39 games with Western Michigan, finishing the season ranked tied for third on the team in scoring and third in goals.

C Danny Irmen - Minnesota (WCHA): Scored 16 goals and 22 assists for 38 points in 30 games, ranking third on the Gophers in goals and fourth in scoring.

F Ryan Jones - Miami (CCHA): Scored 22 goals and 13 assists for 35 points in 39 games with Miami. Ranked first on the team in goals and second in scoring.

C Kyle Wilson - Colgate (ECAC): Scored 23 goals and 18 assists for 41 points in 39 games. Finished the season ranked first on the team in goals and in scoring.


C Morten Madsen - Frolunda Jr. (SWE): Scored six goals and 20 assists for 26 points in 25 games with Frolunda. Ranks fourth on the team in scoring and second in assists. Has played five games for Frolunda in the Swedish Elite League.

D Georgi Misharin - CSKA Moscow (RUS): Scored four goals and 9 assists for 13 points in 50 games with CSKA Moscow. Has 24 penalty minutes in four playoff games.

RW Julien Sprunger - HC Fribourg (SUI): Scored 24 goals and 16 assists for 40 points in 47 games with HC Fribourg. Ranks first on his team in goals and fifth in scoring. 

D Mikhail Tyulyapkin - Novokuznetsk (RUS): Scored two goals and four assists for six points in 51 games. Has one assist in three playoff games.


Anton Khudobin - Saskatoon (WHL): Owns a 23-13-1 record with a 2.90 goals against average and a .917 save percentage with four shutouts. Is 2-0-1 with a 2.51 goals against average through three playoff games. 

Miroslav Kopriva - Austin (CHL): Owns a 12-3-0 record with a 2.33 goals against average and a .938 save percentage. Named the CHL Goaltender of the Week on December 5, and was recalled by Houston on March 8.

Kristofer Westblom - Kelowna (WHL): Owns an 16-6-1 record with a 2.87 goals against average and a .892 save percentage.
