Houston Aeros Record: 18-11-3-3, 42 Points, Third Place in South Division
The Aeros continued their busy schedule, playing three games in three nights over the weekend. While Houston saw their four-game point streak come to an end, the Aeros have still tallied points in 15 of their last 20 contests (12-5-2-1) since the team’s Nov. 18 win against the Rockford IceHogs in Saint Paul.
Houston started the weekend hosting the Texas Stars Friday and suffered their first regulation loss, 2-1, since Dec. 22. Blueliner Chay Genoway scored the lone Aeros goal, while goalie Matt Hackett stopped 29-of-31 shots. The Aeros returned to their winning ways with a 1-0 shutout victory against the San Antonio Rampage Saturday night in Houston. Netminder Darcy Kuemper stopped all 19 shots he faced, while winger Nick Petersen scored the game’s lone marker. The Aeros rounded out a busy weekend with a visit to Cedar Park to face the Stars Sunday evening, where the team picked up a point in a 4-3 overtime loss. Petersen and center Zack Phillips led the Aeros with a goal and assist each, while Hackett made 25 saves.
This week, the Aeros visit Cedar Park to face the Texas Stars Friday at 7:30 p.m. CT, before heading back to Houston to host Lake Erie at 7:05 p.m. Saturday and Charlotte Sunday at 5:05 p.m.

LW Raphael Bussieres - Baie-Comeau (QMJHL): The Wild’s second-round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft netted an assist in three games last week. The forward has 47 points (20-27=47) and a plus-20 rating in 41 games.
D Mathew Dumba - Red Deer (WHL): Minnesota’s first-round pick in June’s NHL Entry Draft totaled a goal, assist and plus-2 rating in four games last week. In 41 games, Dumba has 10 goals, 13 assists and 51 PIMs.
C Tyler Graovac - Belleville (OHL): Traded to Belleville on Saturday and registered four points (1-3=4) in his first game with the Bulls that night. Has accumulated 39 points (22-17=39) in 31 games.
D Colton Jobke - Regina (WHL): Recorded a goal and plus-2 rating in three games last week. In 20 games, the blueliner has 15 points (2-13=15), a plus-2 rating and 44 PIMs.
D John Draeger - Michigan State (CCHA): Skated in the Spartans’ loss at Ferris State Saturday. The freshman has five points (1-4=5) in 20 games.
RW Adam Gilmour - Muskegon (USHL): Minnesota’s fourth-round selection in the June’s NHL Entry Draft added an assist in three games for the Lumberjacks last week. On the season, the forward has 25 points (12-13=25) and is a plus-12 in 34 games.
LW Erik Haula - University of Minnesota (WCHA): Did not play in Minnesota’s victory vs. Notre Dame Tuesday with an upper-body injury suffered Dec. 30. Leads the Gophers in points (26) and assists (17). The Gophers are ranked No. 1 in the country.
LW Mario Lucia - Notre Dame (CCHA): Returned to collegiate play in the Irish’s loss at Minnesota Tuesday after winning a gold medal with Team USA at the IIHF World Junior Championship Saturday. Totaled one assist and a plus-1 rating in seven games with the U.S. in Russia. Named the CCHA Rookie of the Month for December. In 10 college games, Lucia has 5 goals and 5 assists.
LW Louis Nanne - Penticton (BCHL): Skated in two games with Penticton last week. Has 26 points (13-13=26) in 31 games. Penticton is the No. 2 ranked team in the BCHL with a record of 24-10-0-3
D Nick Seeler - Nebraska Omaha (WCHA): Skated in one game for Mavericks during a weekend sweep vs. Colorado College. The freshman blueliner has seven points (2-5=7) and a plus-2 on the season. Nebraska-Omaha is ranked No. 13 in the country.
RW Christoph Bertschy - SC Bern (Swiss): Totaled five points (3-2=5) and a plus-4 rating in six games with Switzerland at the IIHF World Junior Championship as the Swiss finished the tournament in sixth place. In 27 games with Bern of the Swiss Elite League, Bertschy has four points (2-2=4).
D Daniel Gunnarsson - Lulea HF (SEL): Recorded a plus-1 rating in two games with Lulea last week. The defenseman has played in 36 games, totaling 11 points (5-6=11) and a plus-8 rating.
Johan Gustafsson - Lulea HF (SEL): Allowed one goal in a victory with Lulea last week. Ranks T-1st among all Swedish Elite League goalies in goals-against average (1.68 GAA) and ranks sixth in save percentage (.928 SV%), having stopped 506-of-545 shots, with a 14-9-0 record.
Stephen Michalek - Cedar Rapids (USHL): Allowed three total goals in two victories with Cedar Rapids last week. Has a 6-4-2 record, with a 2.98 goals-against average and .900 save percentage with the RoughRiders this season.
