HOUSTON AEROS (18-15-4-1, 5th in West Division) – Members of the Houston squad earned league honors last week, with D Maxim Noreau being named Tuesday to the Canadian roster for the AHL’s All-Star Game and G Anton Khudobin named to the PlanetUSA roster Wednesday. The Aeros jumped back into competition after the holiday break with a busy schedule that included five contests in seven days, earning six points in the process. Houston earned a 5-4 OT victory against Syracuse on home ice Monday night before traveling for three road contests in consecutive days. The road trip started with a 5-1 loss at Chicago
Wednesday, with the club’s leading scorer, RW J-M Daoust, registering the lone goal. Houston lost a two-goal lead in the third period Thursday night and fell in a 5-4 OT decision to the IceHogs in Rockford. The Aeros played a game for the third consecutive day Friday, earning a 6-2 victory at Milwaukee to start 2010 with a win. C Cody Almond tallied his first professional goal and G Barry Brust earned his second win in as many starts this season. The Aeros returned to Houston to face Abbotsford, dropping a 4-3 OT decision Sunday. The Aeros travel to Cedar Park to face the Texas Stars Wednesday before returning home to host the Rockford IceHogs Friday and Sunday.

D Tyler Cuma - Ottawa (OHL):
First round pick (23rd overall) in 2008 Draft has 10 points (1-9=10) in 27 games this season.

LW Kris Foucault - Calgary (WHL): The fourth round pick (103rd overall) in 2009 Draft has 11 goals and five assists for 16 points in 38 games for first-place Calgary.

D Marco Scandella - Val-D'Or (QMJHL): Second round pick (55th overall) in 2008 Draft scored the game-winner in Canada's World Junior Championship semifinal win over Switzerland and has three points (1-2=3) and a +6 rating heading into Tuesday's gold medal game against the U.S. 


C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL): Seventh round pick (193rd overall) in 2009 Draft, and Colgate University recruit owns 12 points (2-10=12) in 27 games for the top team in the USHL.

LW Erik Haula - Omaha (USHL): The University of Minnesota recruit and seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 NHL Draft notched two goals and an assist in three games last week to bring his total to 14 goals and 28 assists in 28 games.

D Nick Leddy - Minnesota (WCHA): First round pick (16th overall) in last summer's draft has one goal through 11 games played this season.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) scored his first goal of the season in a 5-2 win over Colgate last week.

D Kyle Medvec - Vermont (HE): Fourth round pick in 2006 (102nd overall) has posted two goals and five assists and helped Vermont win the Catamount Cup last weekend.


Matt Hackett - Plymouth (OHL):
The third round draft pick (77th overall) in last year's draft won both of his starts last week to improve his record to 20-11-0-1 and ranks third in the League in wins. His .928 save percentage ranks second in the OHL.

Darcy Kuemper - Red Deer (WHL): The sixth round pick (161st overall) in last year's draft allowed just four goals in three games last week as Red Deer posted a 2-0-1 record. His goals against average now stands at 2.76 and his save percentage has improved to .909.
