HOUSTON AEROS (20-17-6-1, 6th in West Division) –
Houston saw its point streak end in consecutive losses last week, before winning at home to head into the AHL All-Star break on a positive note. The week started with Houston ending a six-game point streak in a 3-2 loss at Rockford Wednesday. C Chad Rau
and D Maxim Noreau each scored for the Aeros, while G Anton Khudobin made 18 saves in the loss. The Aeros again fell to the IceHogs in Rockford Friday, this time in a 5-1 contest. D Jamie Fraser scored the only goal for Houston and Khudobin stopped 14 of 16 shots in relief after G Wade Dubielewicz was pulled less than a minute into the game. The Aeros ended the week topping the Toronto Marlies, 5-2, in front of the second-largest crowd of the season Saturday night in Houston. C Nathan Smith scored two goals and added a helper, D J.P. Testwuide netted a goal and two assists and D Maxim Noreau also had two assists, while Dubielewicz made 30 saves to earn the win. The team will take a break while Noreau and Khudobin will head to the 2010 Time Warner Cable All-Star Classic in Maine.
