HOUSTON AEROS (27-22-6-1, 5th in West Division) – The Aeros returned to home ice going 1-2 playing three games in three days last week. The Houston suffered a 7-2 loss against Grand Rapids Friday. LW Petr Kalus and LW Colton Gillies scored and G Barry Brust suffered the loss stopping 14-of-19 shots. The Aeros came out on the winning side of the rematch with the Griffins Saturday, earning a 1-0 victory in OT. RW J-M Daoust scored the GWG 55 seconds into OT and Brust made 22 saves to earn the shutout. The Aeros couldn’t stay in the win column against the top-ranked team in the Division, falling to the Chicago Wolves, 3-0, Sunday. Brust made 23 saves but was saddled with the loss. The Aeros once again face a three-game in three-day schedule this weekend, this time on the road, traveling to Milwaukee Friday, before facing Chicago Saturday and Peoria Sunday.

Canadian Hockey Leagues

D Tyler Cuma - Ottawa (OHL):
First round pick (23rd overall) in 2008 Draft picked up two assists in helping Ottawa to a 2-1-0 record last week, bringing his point total to 17 (2-15=17) in 42 games.

LW Kris Foucault - Calgary (WHL): The fourth round pick (103rd overall) in 2009 Draft posted four assists and a +3 rating as Calgary won all four games last week. He now has 14 goals and 15 assists in 54 games.

D Marco Scandella - Val-D'Or (QMJHL): Second round selection (55th overall) in 2008 was suspended on February 9 for 15 games for a hit to the head. At the time of his suspension, Scandella led his team with a +11 rating, and ranked second among team defensemen in points (9-22=31).   


C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL): Seventh round pick (193rd overall) in 2009 Draft, and Colgate University recruit notched three assists in three games last week and now owns 20 points on five goals and 15 assists.

LW Erik Haula - Omaha (USHL): The University of Minnesota recruit and seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 NHL Draft racked up five more points on two goals and three assists in three games. He ranks third in the USHL in scoring with 61 points on 24 goals and 37 assists.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) has two goals and an assist in 28 games this season.

D Kyle Medvec - Vermont (HE): Fourth round pick in 2006 (102nd overall) scored two goals in two games last week to bring his point total to 13 on five goals and eight assists.


Matt Hackett - Plymouth (OHL):
The third round draft pick (77th overall) in last year's draft owns a .925 save percentage to rank second in the OHL. His goals against average now stands at 2.64.

Darcy Kuemper - Red Deer (WHL): The sixth round pick (161st overall) in last year's draft was 3-0 last week, allowing just two goals in the three games. He now owns a 24-17-0-3 record with a 2.61 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.
