HOUSTON AEROS: (35-14-1-2, 1st place West Division) – Despite losing two of three games last week, Houston still leads the West Division by two points over the Milwaukee Admirals...Thomas Pock’s second goal of the game snapped a tie with 3:56 left in regulation, as the Hartford Wolf Pack held off the Aeros 4-3 at Hartford Civic Center on Saturday…RW Kirby Law, RW Joel Ward and C Bryan Lundbohm each scored a power play goal and G Miroslav Kopriva made 30 saves for the Aeros…Noah Clarke snapped a pair of ties – scoring with two seconds left in the second period and notching the game-winner on a shorthanded breakaway with 6:55 left in the third, as the Manchester Monarchs defeated Houston 4-2 on Friday…Former Minnesota Wild draft pick Barry Brust made 26 saves for Manchester… D Scott Ferguson and D Erik Reitz scored, C Erik Westrum tallied two assists and G Seamus Kotyk made 30 saves…Ward and C Patrick O’Sullivan scored 1:27 apart early in the first period, Lundbohm also scored and Kopriva made 21 saves as the Aeros defeated Milwaukee 3-2 in front of 7,367 fans on Houston Chronicle in Education Field Trip day at Toyota Center last Tuesday afternoon…Westrum leads the AHL in scoring with 76 points (24-52=76)…Law ranks second with 70 points (30-40=70)…O’Sullivan leads AHL rookies and ranks tied for eighth overall in scoring with 55 points (28-27=55)…D Curtis Murphy ranks second in defensemen scoring with 42 points (7-35=42)…Houston plays at Cleveland tonight and then plays at Iowa on Friday and Saturday night to complete a five-game road trip.

C Kyle Bailey - Portland (WHL): Has scored 14 goals and 25 assists for 39 points in 50 games with Portland. Ranks fifth on his team in scoring and third in penalty minutes with 117. Scored five power play goals and four game-winners

LW Patrick Bordeleau - Val-D’Or (QMJHL): Has scored 18 goals and 31 assists for 49 points in 53 games with Val-D’Or. Ranks fourth on the team in scoring and has picked up nine power play goals and two game-winning goals.

D Riley Emmerson - Tri-City (WHL): Has scored one goal and one assist in 53 games with Tri-City while accumulating 86 penalty minutes.

LW Matt Kassian - Kamloops (WHL): Has scored four goals and five assists for nine points in 55 games with Kamloops.

LW Benoit Pouliot - Sudbury (OHL): Scored 28 goals and 25 assists for 53 points in 37 games with Sudbury. Leads the team in goals and plus/minus rating (+19), and ranks second in scoring. Has 11 power play goals, three shorthanded goals, and three game-winners. Collected five assists and 14 penalty minutes in helping Canada to a gold medal victory at the World Junior Championships.

D A.J. Thelen - Prince Albert (WHL): Has scored 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points in 55 games. Ranks tied for fourth on the team in scoring and second with six power play goals.


D Anthony Aiello - Boston College (Hockey East): Picked up seven assists in 26 games with B.C.

RW Mike Erickson - Western Michigan (CCHA): Scored seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in 32 games with Western Michigan. Ranks tied for second on the team in goals and third in scoring.

C Danny Irmen - Minnesota (WCHA): Scored 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points in 19 games, and was named the WCHA Player of the Week on January 31 after recording five points in a sweep of Wisconsin. Tied for third on the team in scoring and second in goals. Has missed 11 games with injuries this season.

F Ryan Jones - Miami (CCHA): Scored 15 goals and 10 assists for 25 points in 30 games with Miami. Ranks second on the team in goals and fourth in scoring.

C Kyle Wilson - Colgate (ECAC): Scored 22 goals and 10 assists for 32 points in 30 games. Ranks first on the team in scoring and second in goals, while leading the club with 10 power play tallies.


C Morten Madsen - Frolunda Jr. (SWE): Scored six goals and 20 assists for 26 points in 25 games with Frolunda. Ranks fourth on the team in scoring and second in assists. Has played five games for Frolunda in the Swedish Elite League.

D Georgi Misharin - CSKA Moscow (RUS): Scored three goals and 10 assists for 13 points in 46 games with CSKA Moscow.

RW Julien Sprunger - HC Fribourg (SUI): Scored 18 goals and 13 assists for 31 points in 35 games with HC Fribourg. Ranks first on his team in goals and fourth in scoring. Scored two goals and three assists for seventh place Switzerland at the World Juniors.

D Mikhail Tyulyapkin - Novokuznetsk (RUS): Scored two goals and three assists for five points in 47 games.


Anton Khudobin - Saskatoon (WHL): Owns a 17-12-0 record with a 3.05 goals against average and a .913 save percentage with two shutouts. Posted a 4-1-0 record with a 2.20 goals against average and a .932 save percentage for second-place Russia at the World Juniors.

Miroslav Kopriva - Austin (CHL): Owns a 7-2-0 record with a 2.00 goals against average and a .945 save percentage. Named the CHL Goaltender of the Week on December 5, and was recalled by Houston on January 13.

Kristofer Westblom - Kelowna (WHL): Owns an 11-5-1 record with a 3.20 goals against average and a .882 save percentage.
