IOWA WILD 2015-16 RECORD: 3-6-1-1, 8 POINTS; 5TH PLACE IN CENTRAL DIVISION



The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, went 1-2-0 in three games last week. The Wild suffered a 4-0 shutout loss against the Rockford IceHogs on Friday at BMO Harris Bank Center (10/30). G Leland Irving earned his first regulation loss of the season, stopping 30-of-34 shots. Iowa won its second contest with a 3-2 overtime victory against Milwaukee at Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday (10/31). D Maxime Fortunus led the Wild with two assists. D Joe Finlay and F Brett Sutter each scored during regulation and D Mike Reilly recorded the overtime winner. G Jeremy Smith registered his first win of the season, making 40 saves through overtime. The Wild dropped its third match of the week, 2-0 against the IceHogs in Des Moines on Sunday (11/1). Irving made 27-of-28 saves. F Christoph Bertschy (2-4=6) and F Michael Keranen (2-4=6) rank T-1st on Iowa with six points each. Reilly (2-2=4) and Fortunus (1-3=4) rank T-4th with four points. Irving is 2-2-1 with a 1.96 GAA, .939 SV% and one shutout in five games and ranks sixth in the league in SV% and T-9th in GAA. Smith is 1-4-1 with a 3.12 GAA and a .924 SV% in six games and ranks second in the AHL with 232 saves and 11th in minutes played. The Wild will play a three-game homestand this week, hosting the Milwaukee Admirals on Thursday and the Lake Erie Monsters on Saturday and Sunday.

CANADIAN HOCKEY LEAGUES

D Gustav Bouramman - Sault Ste. Marie (OHL): Scored a goal and two penalty minutes in three games last week…Ranks third on the Greyhounds in assists and T-3rd in penalty minutes and leads Sault Ste. Marie defensemen in scoring…Minnesota’s seventh-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

C Reid Duke - Brandon (WHL): Registered two penalty minutes in three games last week…Ranks T-4th in the WHL with two game-winning goals, T-7th in goals and T-8th in plus/minus rating…Shares the team lead in goals, T-4th in plus/minus rating and sixth in points…Wild’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

D Tanner Faith - Moose Jaw (WHL): Recorded an assist and two penalty minutes in three games…Leads the Warriors in penalty minutes and ranks T-1st amongst defensemen in goals and third in scoring…Acquired by Moose Jaw from the Kootenay Ice (9/23)…Minnesota’s fifth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

C Pavel Jenys - Sudbury (OHL): Totaled three points (1-2=3) and two penalty minutes in three games last week…He owns seven points (3-4=7) in his last seven games…Ranks T-4th on Sudbury in scoring…Wild’s seventh-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

C Chase Lang - Vancouver (WHL): Tallied two assists and four penalty minutes in first three games with the Giants…Ranks second on the team in penalty minutes, T-2nd in assists and T-3rd in scoring…Traded to the Vancouver Giants from Calgary (10/27)…Registered seven points (2-5=7) and 20 penalty minutes in 14 games with the Hitmen…Recorded six points (2-4=6) in eight games (10/2-10/18)…Minnesota’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

D Hunter Warner - Prince Albert (WHL): Netted his first WHL goal against Rylan Parenteau in the Raiders’ 3-2 overtime loss vs. Victoria (10/30)…Ranks T-2nd on the team amongst defensemen in assists and in scoring and second in penalty minutes during his second season with Prince Albert…Signed as a free agent with the Wild, September 23, 2014.

D Louis Belpedio - Miami University (NCHC): Recorded four shots on goal in two games as Miami lost its weekend series at St. Cloud State…T-2nd on the RedHawks in penalty minutes and in assists and ranks fourth in scoring…Named an alternate captain (9/29)…Minnesota’s third-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

D Nicholas Boka - University of Michigan (Big-10): Tallied three shots in two games as Michigan split its weekend series vs. Robert Morris…Earned his first collegiate point with an assist in the Wolverines 3-2 win vs. Mercyhurst (10/18)…Wild’s sixth-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

D Nolan De Jong - University of Michigan (Big-10): Registered two penalty minutes and two shots in two games last weekend as the Wolverines move to 4-1-1 on the season…Minnesota’s seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

D John Draeger - Michigan State University (Big-10): Michigan State did not play last week and will host New Hampshire this weekend…Leads the team defensemen in plus/minus rating and ranks second in scoring…Wild’s third-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

C Adam Gilmour - Boston College (H-East): Tallied a goal, four penalty minutes and five shots in two games last week as Boston College improves to 6-1-0 on the season…Ranks T-5th on the Eagles in goals…Minnesota’s fourth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

LW Jordan Greenway - Boston University (H-East): Recorded his first collegiate points with two assists and tallied four shots and six penalty minutes in two games last weekend…He ranks T-1st on the Terriers in penalty minutes…Wild’s second-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

LW Mario Lucia - Notre Dame (H-East): Registered three assists, six shots and two penalty minutes in two games as the Fighting Irish won its home-and-home series against Connecticut…Leads Notre Dame in shots (19) and in assists, T-2nd in scoring and T-4th in goals…Named an alternate captain (8/25)…Minnesota’s second-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

LW Louis Nanne - Rensselaer Polytechnic (ECAC): Scored his first goal of the season in the Engineers’ 5-1 win at Union (10/30)…Wild’s seventh-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

C Avery Peterson - University of Nebraska-Omaha (NCHC): Tallied four shots on goal in Omaha’s first loss of the season at Western Michigan, 4-2 (10/30)…Playing in his sophomore season with the Mavericks…Minnesota’s sixth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

LW Kirill Kaprizov - Novokuznetsk (KHL): Set a career-high totaling three points in a single game (0-3=3) during Metallurg NK’s 4-3 SO loss against Admiral (10/30)…Leads the team in GWG (3), T-1st in assists and third in goals and scoring…Has eight points (3-5=8) in his last eight games…Wild’s fifth-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

D Pontus Sjalin - Asploven HC (SWE-1): Tallied an assist in two games last week…Ranks T-3rd amongst Asploven defensemen in assists and scoring…Played in three games with Lulea HF (9/17-10/13)…Minnesota’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

GOALTENDERS

Kaapo Kahkonen - Blues (SM-Liiga): Earned the loss in his sole start last week, stopping 27-of-32 shots in Liiga’s 5-2 defeat against HIFK (10/29)…Ranks second in the league amongst rookie goaltenders in GAA (14th overall) and in SV% (10th overall)…Recorded his first shutout of the season, making all 27 saves against HPK (9/30)…Wild’s fourth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Ales Stezka - Sioux Falls (USHL): Made 25 saves in his fourth loss of the season vs. Youngstown (10/31)…Ranks seventh in the league with a 199 saves, ninth in minutes played and T-12th in wins…Earned his first USHL win, stopping 19-of-22 shots in the Stampede’s 5-3 victory over Sioux City (9/26)…Minnesota’s fourth-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
