IOWA WILD 2015-16 RECORD: 3-14-1-2, 9 POINTS



The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, fell 3-2 in its first game against the Lake Erie Monsters at Wells Fargo Arena on Friday (11/0). F Grayson Downing  (1-1=2) led the team with two points. F Michael Keranen also scored for the Wild and G Leland Irving  made 33-of-36 saves.

The Wild dropped its second game against the Monsters, 3-2 in Des Moines on Saturday (11/21). Downing and F Andrew Yogan each scored for Iowa. Forwards Jared Knight , Keranen and Christoph Bertschy  and D Tyson Strachan  tallied an assist apiece.

G Jeremy Smith  stopped 35 shots. Iowa suffered a 2-1 loss against Chicago at Allstate Arena on Sunday (11/22). F Zack Mitchell  netted the Wild’s sole goal with assists from Downing and Bertschy while Irving made 40 saves.

Keranen leads Iowa with 10 points (5-5=10) in 16 games. Downing (4-4=8) ranks third with eight points. Mitchell (4-2=6) and D Mike Reilly  (2-4=6) rank T-4th with six points. Irving is 2-6-2 with a 2.57 GAA, .924 SV% and one shutout in 10 games and ranks 12th in the AHL in save percentage. Smith is 1-8-1 with a 3.20 GAA and a .913 SV% in 10 games and ranks fourth in the league with 336 saves. The Wild will hit the road for three games this week, visiting Grand Rapids (Wed.) and Charlotte (Sat. & Sun.).

D Gustav Bouramman - Sault Ste. Marie (OHL): The Greyhounds split its two games last week…Ranks T-1st amongst Sault Ste. Marie defensemen in scoring and ranks fifth on the team in assists…Minnesota’s seventh-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

C Reid Duke - Brandon (WHL): Scored three points (1-2=3) in Brandon’s 6-2 win vs. Medicine (11/18)…Ranks T-4th in the WHL in game-winning goals (3), T-11th in plus/minus rating and T-15th in goals…Shares team lead in goals, T-3rd in plus/minus rating and sixth in points…Wild’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

D Tanner Faith - Moose Jaw (WHL): Recorded an assist in Moose Jaw’s 5-2 loss at Spokane (11/21)…Ranks T-1st amongst Warriors defensemen in goals and third in scoring while fourth on the team in penalty minutes…Has served as an alternate captain for 23 of-24 games this season…Acquired by Moose Jaw from the Kootenay Ice (9/23)…Minnesota’s fifth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

C Pavel Jenys - Niagara (OHL): Traded to Niagara Icedogs (11/23)…Tallied an assist and two penalty minutes in three games last week with Sudbury…Wild’s seventh-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

C Chase Lang - Vancouver (WHL): Registered two points (1-1=2) in two games last week, including his first goal with Vancouver (11/20)…Has tallied at least one point in eight-of-11 games with the Giants, totaling nine points (1-8=9)…Leads the team in assists, T-2nd in scoring and T-3rd in penalty minutes…Traded to the Vancouver Giants from Calgary (10/27)…Registered seven points (2-5=7) and 20 penalty minutes in 14 games with the Hitmen…Minnesota’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

D Hunter Warner - Prince Albert (WHL): Tallied five penalty minutes in two games…Ranks second on the team in penalty minutes and is T-2nd amongst defensemen in assists and third in scoring…Netted his first WHL goal against Rylan Parenteau in the Raiders’ 3-2 overtime loss vs. Victoria (10/30)…Signed as a free agent with the Wild, September 23, 2014.

D Louis Belpedio - Miami University (NCHC): Registered four penalty minutes in two games as Miami went 0-0-2 in its weekend series vs. Omaha…T-1st on the RedHawks in assists and in penalty minutes and fourth in scoring…Named an alternate captain (9/29)…Minnesota’s third-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

D Nicholas Boka - University of Michigan (Big-10): Recorded two penalty minutes in two games as Michigan split its weekend series at Boston University…Ranks T-4th amongst team defensemen in scoring…Earned his first collegiate point with an assist in the Wolverines 3-2 win vs. Mercyhurst (10/18)…Wild’s sixth-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

D Nolan De Jong - University of Michigan (Big-10): Tallied an assist and three shots in the Wolverines’ 4-2 win at Boston University (11/21)…Ranks third amongst Michigan’s blue liners in scoring…Minnesota’s seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

LW Kirill Kaprizov - Novokuznetsk (KHL): Tallied two penalty minutes and three shots in two games last week…Ranks T-4th in the league in GWG…Leads the team in GWG (4), T-1st in assists and third in goals and scoring…Has 10 points (4-6=10) in his last 14 games…Set a career-high three points in a single game with three assists (10/30)…Wild’s fifth-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

D Pontus Sjalin - Lulea (Sweden): Skated in two of Lulea’s three games last week as the team went 2-1-0…Owns three assists and two blocked shots in 15 games with Asploven HC (SWE-1)…Ranks T-3rd amongst Asploven defensemen in assists and T-4th in scoring…Minnesota’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

GOALTENDERS

Kaapo Kahkonen - Blues (SM-Liiga): Went 1-1-0 in two starts last week, making 54-of-56 total saves…Ranks second in the league amongst rookie goaltenders in SV% (seventh overall) and second in GAA (ninth overall)…Recorded his first shutout of the season, stopping all 27 shots against HPK (9/30)…Wild’s fourth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Ales Stezka - Sioux Falls (USHL): Earned his fifth win of the season, allowing just one goal on 30 shots in his sole game last week (11/21)…Ranks T-15th in the league with 257 saves and 15th in minutes played…Earned his first USHL win, stopping 19-of-22 shots in the Stampede’s 5-3 victory over Sioux City (9/26)…Minnesota’s fourth-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
