IOWA WILD 2015-16 RECORD: 3-8-1-2, 9 POINTS SIXTH PLACE IN CENTRAL DIVISION



The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, went 0-2-1 in three games last week. The Wild suffered a 3-0 loss against the Admirals at Wells Fargo Arena on Thursday (11/5). G Jeremy Smith stopped 35-of-38 shots. Iowa earned a point in its first match against Lake Erie with a 3-2 shootout loss in Des Moines on Saturday (11/7). F Grayson Downing scored a goal for the Wild in his first game of the season while F Kellan Lain also notched a goal during regulation. G Leland Irving made 33 saves through overtime and stopped one-of-two shootout attempts. The Wild dropped its second contest against the Monsters, 3-2 in Iowa on Sunday (11/8). D Zach Palmquist and Lain each tallied a goal while Downing and F Jared Knight recorded an assist apiece. Smith stopped 17-of-20 shots.

F Christoph Bertschy (2-4=6) and F Michael Keranen (2-4=6) rank T-1st on Iowa with six points each. D Mike Reilly (2-3=5) ranks T-3rd with five points and D Maxime Fortunus (1-3=4) ranks fifth with four points. Irving is 2-2-2 with a 1.94 GAA, .940 SV% and one shutout in six games and ranks fourth in the league in GAA and in SV%. Smith is 1-6-1 with a 3.10 GAA and a .919 SV% in eight games and ranks second in the AHL with 284 saves and seventh in minutes played. The Wild will travel to Grand Rapids on Wednesday to face the Griffins before hosting the Rockford IceHogs on Friday and Saturday.

CANADIAN HOCKEY LEAGUES

D Gustav Bouramman - Sault Ste. Marie (OHL): The Greyhounds went 1-2-0 in three games last week…Ranks T-1st amongst Sault Ste. Marie defensemen in scoring and ranks T-4th on the team in assists and fourth in penalty minutes…Minnesota’s seventh-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

C Reid Duke - Brandon (WHL): Ranks T-6th in the WHL with two game-winning goals and T-16th in goals while ranking second on Brandon in goals and sixth in points…Wild’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

D Tanner Faith - Moose Jaw (WHL): The Warriors went 2-1-0 in three games last week…Ranks T-1st amongst Moose Jaw defensemen in goals and third in scoring while second on the team in penalty minutes…Acquired by Moose Jaw from the Kootenay Ice (9/23)…Minnesota’s fifth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

C Pavel Jenys - Sudbury (OHL): Tallied an assist in two games last week…He owns eight points (3-5=8) in his last nine games and ranks T-3rd on Sudbury in scoring…Wild’s seventh-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

C Chase Lang - Vancouver (WHL): Recorded two assists in two games last week and has four helpers in five games with the Giants…Leads the team in assists, T-2nd in penalty minutes and third in scoring…Traded to the Vancouver Giants from Calgary (10/27)…Registered seven points (2-5=7) and 20 penalty minutes in 14 games with the Hitmen…Recorded six points (2-4=6) in eight games (10/2-10/18)…Minnesota’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

D Hunter Warner - Prince Albert (WHL): Registered two penalty minutes in three games…Netted his first WHL goal against Rylan Parenteau in the Raiders’ 3-2 overtime loss vs. Victoria (10/30)…Ranks second on the team in penalty minutes and is third amongst defensemen in assists and in scoring…Signed as a free agent with the Wild, September 23, 2014.

COLLEGE/USHL

D Louis Belpedio - Miami University (NCHC): Tallied an assist, eight shots and two penalty minutes in two games as Miami won its weekend series vs. Western Michigan…Ranks second on the RedHawks in penalty minutes, T-2nd in assists and fifth in scoring…Named an alternate captain (9/29)…Minnesota’s third-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

D Nicholas Boka - University of Michigan (Big-10): Michigan did not play last weekend and will return to action vs. Niagara (11/13)…Earned his first collegiate point with an assist in the Wolverines 3-2 win vs. Mercyhurst (10/18)…Wild’s sixth-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

D Nolan De Jong - University of Michigan (Big-10): The Wolverines did not play last week and are 4-1-1 on the season…Minnesota’s seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

D John Draeger - Michigan State University (Big-10): Recorded an assist, a plus-three rating and four shots in two games as Michigan State won its weekend series vs. New Hampshire…Leads the team defensemen in plus/minus rating and third in scoring…Wild’s third-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

C Adam Gilmour - Boston College (H-East): Tallied an assist and four shots on goal in two games as Boston College won its weekend series vs. Maine…The Eagles improve to 8-1-0 on the season…Ranks T-6th on the Eagles in goals…Minnesota’s fourth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

LW Jordan Greenway - Boston University (H-East): Recorded four penalty minutes in two games as Boston University won its home-and-home series against Northeastern…Earned his first collegiate points with two assists (10/30-10/31)…He leads the Terriers in penalty minutes…Wild’s second-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

LW Mario Lucia - Notre Dame (H-East): Registered three shots in two games as the Fighting Irish split its weekend series vs. Minnesota…Ranks T-3rd on Notre Dame in assists, T-4th in shots (22) and T-5th in scoring and in goals…Named an alternate captain (8/25)…Minnesota’s second-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

LW Louis Nanne - Rensselaer Polytechnic (ECAC): Tallied two assists, a plus-three rating and two shots in two games last weekend…Ranks T-4th on the team in scoring…Recorded his first goal of the season in the Engineers’ 5-1 win at Union (10/30)…Wild’s seventh-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

D Jack Sadek - University of Minnesota (Big-10): Registered an assist and two penalty minutes in two games as Minnesota split its weekend series against Notre Dame …Skated in his first collegiate game and tallied his first Big-10 point with an assist in Minnesota’s 4-0 shutout victory vs. Northeastern (10/23)…Did not play in Minnesota’s first three games of the season (10/10-17)…Wild’s seventh-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

C Joel Eriksson Ek - Farjestads BK (Sweden): Farjestads did not play last week and will return to action against MODO (11/12)…Ranks T-4th on the team in hits (17), fifth in shots (31) and T-7th in scoring…Started the season with a four-game point streak (2-2=4, 9/16-26)…Minnesota’s first-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

D Pontus Sjalin - Asploven HC (SWE-1): Asploven did not play last week…Ranks T-3rd amongst team defensemen in assists and scoring…Played in three games with Lulea HF (9/17-10/13)…Minnesota’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

GOALTENDERS

Kaapo Kahkonen - Blues (SM-Liiga): Blues did not play last week and will return to action Nov. 13 against JYP…Ranks second in the league amongst rookie goaltenders in GAA (13th overall) and in SV% (10th overall)…Recorded his first shutout of the season, making all 27 saves against HPK (9/30)…Wild’s fourth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Ales Stezka - Sioux Falls (USHL): Did not play in Sioux Falls two games last weekend…Ranks 10th in the league with a 199 saves and 14th in minutes played…Earned his first USHL win, stopping 19-of-22 shots in the Stampede’s 5-3 victory over Sioux City (9/26)…Minnesota’s fourth-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
