Iowa Wild 2014-15 Record: 15-23-1-1, 32 points, Fifth Place in West Division

The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, went 2-1-0 in three games last week. Iowa suffered its second consecutive shutout loss, 4-0, against the Rockford IceHogs on Friday at BMO Harris Bank Center (1/16). G John Curry started the game, allowing three goals on 10 shots in 25:48 of play while G Johan Gustafsson made 15-of-16 saves in relief. The Wild earned a 4-1 win in its first match against the Lake Erie Monsters on Saturday at Wells Fargo Center (1/17). F Stephane Veilleux led the night with two assists. Defensemen Stu Bickel, Daniel Syvret and Brad Richard along with F Michael Keranen each tallied a goal. Curry made 24 saves to earn the win. Iowa won its second match vs. Lake Erie, 4-3, in overtime on Sunday (1/18). F Tyler Graovac scored on a penalty shot in overtime to seal the Wild’s victory. Forwards Jason Gregoire and Marc Hagel and D Jonathon Blum also netted a goal while F Brady Brassart tallied two assists. Curry made 33 saves. Keranen leads the team in scoring with 28 points (6-22=28) in 40 games. Graovac ranks second with 27 points (13-14=27) and C Jordan Schroeder ranks third with 25 points (10-15=25). Gustafsson is 7-15-1 with a 3.36 GAA and a .898 SV% in 25 games. Curry is 8-7-0 with a 2.72 GAA and a .918 SV% in 17 games. The Wild will play three games this week, hosting Rockford (Thur.) and visiting Milwaukee (Fri.) and Grand Rapids (Sat.).


Canadian Hockey Leagues

C Reid Duke - Brandon (WHL): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft recorded three points (1-2=3), a plus-2 rating and two PIM in two games last week.

D Tanner Faith - Kootenay (WHL): Minnesota's fifth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft is expected to miss the remainder of the season due to an upper body injury.

D Dylan Labbe - Shawinigan (QMJHL): The fourth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft for Minnesota recorded three points (1-2=3) in three games last week.

C Pavel Jenys - Sudbury (OHL)
: Minnesota's seventh-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft tallied an assist in three games last week, posting five points (2-3=5) in his last seven games.

C Chase Lang - Calgary (WHL)
: The sixth-round pick for Minnesota in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft registered an assist, a plus-2 rating and six PIM in three games last week.

D Hunter Warner - Prince Albert (WHL): The defensemen signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Minnesota is expected to miss the rest of the season due to shoulder surgery.

D Louis Belpedio - Miami University of Ohio (NCHC)
: Minnesota's third-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft ranks T-1st amongst defenseman in goals and second in scoring.

D Nolan De Jong - Michigan (Big Ten): The Wild's seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft earned a plus-3 rating in Michigan’s 10-6 win at Ohio State (1/16).

D John Draeger - Michigan State (Big Ten): Minnesota's third-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft did not play in Michigan State’s two games at Penn State last weekend.

C Adam Gilmour - Boston College (Hockey East): The Wild's fourth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft registered an assist in two games as Boston College spit its weekend road games.

LW Mario Lucia - Notre Dame (Hockey East): The second-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft for Minnesota netted two goals in two games as Notre Dame went 1-0-1 in its home-and-home series against Connecticut.

LW Louis Nanne - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (ECAC): Minnesota's seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft is T-2nd on the team in goals and T-7th in scoring.

C Avery Peterson - Nebraska Omaha (NCHC): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft earned NCHC Rookie of the Week honors for the second consecutive week, third time this season (Jan. 19).

D Carson Soucy - Minnesota Duluth (NCHC): Minnesota's fifth-round selection in 2013 NHL Entry Draft registered three shots on goal and two PIM in two games as Minnesota Duluth went 0-1-1 vs. Western Michigan last weekend.

RW Alex Tuch - Boston College (Hockey East): The Wild's first-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft tallied four points (2-2=4) and eight PIM in two games last weekend.

Europe

C Christoph Bertschy - SC Bern (Swiss): Minnesota's sixth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft ranks T-2nd on the team in goals, second in shots on goal and fifth in points.

D Pontus Sjalin - Leksands J20 (Super Elit): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft ranks third on the team in assists with 13.

Alexandre Belanger - Cape-Breton (QMJHL): The Wild's seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft has posted a 2-0-0 record with a 2.42 GAA, .914 SV% in two games with Cape-Breton.

Kaapo Kahkonen - TUTO Turku (Mestis): Minnesota's fourth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft ranks third in the league in SV% (.925) and fifth in GAA (2.12).

Steve Michalek - Harvard (ECAC): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft went 1-1-0 in two games last weekend as Harvard split its two home games.
