IOWA WILD 2015-16 RECORD: 7-22-2-3, 19 POINTS



The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, won both of its two contests last week.

The Wild earned a 2-1 win against the Wolves on Saturday at Allstate Arena (12/26). D Joe Finley and F Grayson Downing each netted a goal while D Mike Reilly and F Jordan Schroeder tallied an assist apiece. G Jeremy Smith made 26 saves.

Iowa won its second game, 3-1 against Rockford on Sunday in Des Moines (12/27). Reilly (1-1=2) and F Colton Beck (0-2=2) led the team with two points. Downing and F Rob Bordson also scored a goal each. Smith stopped 26-of-27 shots.

F Christoph Bertschy leads the Wild with 17 points (4-13=17) in 31 games and ranks T-14th in the AHL in rookie scoring. F Michael Keranen (5-11=16) and Reilly (5-11=16) rank T-2nd with 16 points. Reilly ranks T-4th in scoring amongst rookie defensemen in the league (T-18th overall). F Zack Mitchell (10-5=15) and Downing (9-6=15) rank T-4th with 15 points. Mitchell ranks T-2nd in the league with two shorthanded goals and T-10th with three first goals.

G Leland Irving is 4-12-3 with a 2.68 GAA, .916 SV% and one shutout in 20 games and is fourth in the league with 559 saves, eighth in minutes played (1,141) and T-19th in save percentage. Smith is 3-10-2 with a 3.04 GAA and a .911 SV% in 16 games and was named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week on Monday (12/28).

The Wild will visit the Manitoba Moose for back-to-back games on Thursday and Friday this week.

D Gustav Bouramman - Sault Ste. D Tanner Faith - Moose Jaw (WHL): Recorded three assists and four penalty minutes in two games…Ranks second amongst Warriors defensemen in scoring and in assists and third in goals while second on the team in penalty minutes…Has set career highs in assists and points this season, his two goals are tied for his career-best…Serving as an alternate captain this season…Acquired by Moose Jaw from the Kootenay Ice (9/23)…Minnesota’s fifth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

C Pavel Jenys - Niagara (OHL): The IceDogs went 1-0-1 in its two games last week…Owns five points (1-4=5) in 12 games with Niagara…Traded to the Icedogs (11/23)…Started the season with the Sudbury Wolves, totaling 12 points (4-8=12) and 16 penalty minutes in 24 games…Wild’s seventh-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

C Chase Lang - Vancouver (WHL): Tallied two assists in Vancouver’s 4-2 win vs. Everett (12/27)…Has tallied 16 points (7-9=16) in 11 December games, including a current six-game point streak…Owns 27 points (10-17=27) with the Giants…Leads the team in scoring, second in goals and assists and is fourth in penalty minutes…Traded to the Vancouver Giants from Calgary (10/27)…Registered seven points (2-5=7) and 20 penalty minutes in 14 games with the Hitmen…Minnesota’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

D Hunter Warner - Prince Albert (WHL): Recorded three assists, a plus-2 rating and four penalty minutes in two games last week…Owns five points (1-4=5) in the last five games…Ranks second on the team in penalty minutes and is second amongst defensemen in assists and third in scoring…Netted his first WHL goal against Rylan Parenteau in the Raiders’ 3-2 overtime loss vs. Victoria (10/30)…Signed as a free agent with the Wild, September 23, 2014.

C Avery Peterson - University of Nebraska-Omaha (NCHC): Decided to leave his sophomore season at Nebraska-Omaha due to family reasons (12/14)…He skated in 53 games with the Mavericks over the last two season, totaling 22 points (11-11=22)…Named NCHC Rookie of the Month for January and was named NCHC Rookie of the Week three times during his freshmen season (2014-15)…Minnesota’s sixth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

D Jack Sadek - University of Minnesota (Big-10): University of Minnesota will return to action Jan. 1 vs. Conneticut…Skated in his first collegiate game and tallied his first Big-10 point with an assist in Minnesota’s 4-0 shutout victory vs. Northeastern (10/23)…Did not play in Minnesota’s first three games of the season (10/10-17)…Wild’s seventh-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Kaapo Kahkonen - Blues (SM-Liiga): Earned his first WJC win, stopping 25-of-28 shots in Finland’s 8-3 victory over Slovakia (12/30)…Ranks second in Liiga amongst rookie goaltenders in SV% (ninth overall) and second in GAA (11th overall)…Recorded his first shutout of the season, stopping all 27 shots against HPK (9/30)…Wild’s fourth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Ales Stezka - Sioux Falls (USHL): Has dressed in all three of Czech Republic’s WJC games as Czech Republic is second in Group B with seven points…Earned his first career USHL shutout, stopping all 21 shots in Sioux Falls’ 3-0 win vs. Fargo Force (11/27)…Earned his first USHL win, stopping 19-of-22 shots in the Stampede’s 5-3 victory over Sioux City (9/26)…Minnesota’s fourth-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
