IOWA WILD 2015-16 RECORD: 5-22-2-3, 15 POINTS



The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, fell in its first match of the week against the Checkers, 3-2 in Charlotte on Thursday (12/17). F Colton Beck and D Dylan Labbe each scored for Iowa while G Leland Irving stopped 28-of-31 shots.

The Wild suffered a 3-2 loss in its first contest against San Antonio on Sunday (12/20). F Christoph Bertschy led the team with two assists. D Mike Reilly and F Grayson Downing (pictured above) netted a goal apiece. G Jeremy Smith made 28 saves.

Iowa dropped its second contest against the Rampage, 2-1 at Wells Fargo Arena on Monday (12/21). F Kurtis Gabriel scored the lone goal for the Wild and Irving stopped 22-of-24 shots.

F Michael Keranen (5-11=16) and Bertschy (4-12=16) lead Iowa with 16 points each. Bertschy ranks T-13th in the AHL in rookie scoring. F Zack Mitchell ranks third on the Wild with 15 points (10-5=15) and ranks T-2nd in the league with two shorthanded goals and T-9th with three first goals. Downing (7-6=13) and Reilly (4-9=13) rank T-4th on Iowa with 13 points. Reilly ranks T-6th in scoring amongst rookie defensemen in the AHL. Irving is 4-12-3 with a 2.68 GAA, .916 SV% and one shutout in 20 games and is third in the league with 559 saves, seventh in minutes played (1,141) and 17th in save percentage. Smith is 1-10-2 with a 3.35 GAA and a .905 SV% in 14 games.

D Gustav Bouramman - Sault Ste. C Reid Duke - Brandon (WHL): Registered five points (3-2=5) and two penalty minutes in three games last week…Owns 12 points (7-5=12) in the last 11 contests…Ranks T-7th in the WHL in game-winning goals (4) and T-10th in goals…Leads the Wheat Kings in goals and T-4th in scoring and in plus/minus rating…Wild’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

D Tanner Faith - Moose Jaw (WHL): Recorded an assist and two penalty minutes in Moose Jaw’s 4-3 overtime win at Regina (12/19)…He has set career highs in assists and points this season, his two goals are tied for his career-best…Ranks second amongst Warriors defensemen in scoring and third in goals and assists while T-2nd on the team in penalty minutes…Serving as an alternate captain this season…Acquired by Moose Jaw from the Kootenay Ice (9/23)…Minnesota’s fifth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

C Pavel Jenys - Niagara (OHL): Tallied two points (1-1=2) in two games last week…Owns five points (1-4=5) in 10 games with Niagara…Traded to the Icedogs (11/23)…Started the season with the Sudbury Wolves, totaling 12 points (4-8=12) and 16 penalty minutes in 24 games…Wild’s seventh-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

C Chase Lang - Vancouver (WHL): Registered four points (3-1=4) and four penalty minutes in three games last week…Has tallied 14 points (7-7=14) in 10 December games, including a current five-game point streak…Owns 25 points (10-15=25) with the Giants…Leads the team in scoring, second in goals and assists and is fourth in penalty minutes…Traded to the Vancouver Giants from Calgary (10/27)…Registered seven points (2-5=7) and 20 penalty minutes in 14 games with the Hitmen…Minnesota’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

C Avery Peterson - University of Nebraska-Omaha (NCHC): Decided to leave his sophomore season at Nebraska-Omaha due to family reasons (12/14)…He skated in 53 games with the Mavericks over the last two season, totaling 22 points (11-11=22) Named NCHC Rookie of the Month for January and was named NCHC Rookie of the Week three times during his freshmen season (2014-15)…Minnesota’s sixth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Ales Stezka - Sioux Falls (USHL): Selected to the 2016 Czech Republic National Junior Team preliminary roster (12/4)…Czech Republic will face Russia in its opening game of the 2016 World Junior Tournament (Dec. 26)…Earned his first career USHL shutout, stopping all 21 shots in Sioux Falls’ 3-0 win vs. Fargo Force (11/27)…Earned his first USHL win, stopping 19 of 22 shots in the Stampede’s 5-3 victory over Sioux City (9/26)…Minnesota’s fourth-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
