Wild Plays Of The Week

by Katlyn Gambill / Minnesota Wild

Over the last few seasons, Wild.com wanted help from fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Play each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. Last season, Zach Parise’s stellar wrister against Calgary won top honors, defeating Mikko Koivu’s tic-tap-tip-in play against Winnipeg.

Last week, Jason Zucker's shorthanded goal won.

This week Mikael Granlund goes up against two of Thomas Vanek's plays. The no look spin-o-rama pass Granlund fed to Parise was done with such ease it looks like Granlund practices it in his sleep. Thomas Vanek set up Kyle Brodziak with a beautiful backhand pass from the top of the circle for Brodziak's second goal against San Jose. Then finally, Thomas Vanek notched his first goal as a member of the Wild. The power play marker was as perfect of a shot from the slot as Vanek could do.

Take your pick and check back next week to see if your favorite was choosen as the top play of the week.
