Wild Plays Of The Week: Oct. 19

by Ross Hollebon / Minnesota Wild

It’s time once again for Wild fans to decide the DQ Bakes Play of the Week based on three of the best efforts provided by Wild players from recent games. This week’s nominees are:

Zach Parise (October 8, 2015 at Colorado)
Parise kicked off the 2015-16 season in style completing a hat trick against the Avalanche with this goal as the Wild stormed back from a 4-1 deficit in the third period to win 5-4 on opening night. The hat trick was his first as a member of the Wild.

Charlie Coyle (October 10, 2015 vs. St. Louis)
Coyle opened the scoring during the Wild’s home opener against the Blues by backhanding a beauty past goaltender Jake Allen with eight seconds remaining in the first period. Coyle jumped Carl Gunnarsson and Kevin Shattenkirk, earning himself a breakaway, and finished it strong.

Nino Niederreiter (October 18, 2015 at Anaheim)
Niederreiter scored the Wild's lone goal on Sunday in acrobatic fashion. He fought off Ducks defender Hampus Lindholm and managed to maintain possession of the puck, sending a “slingshot” of an attempt into the goal as he was brought down and slid into the post.
