Wild Plays Of The Week: Feb. 16

by Katlyn Gambill / Minnesota Wild

Over the last few seasons, Wild.com wanted help from fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Play each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. Last season, Zach Parise’s stellar wrister against Calgary won top honors, defeating Mikko Koivu’s tic-tap-tip-in play against Winnipeg.

Last week, fans voted Jonas Brodin's quick stick save as the top play.

Scoring your first goal in a new sweater is always a big deal, but scoring it against your former team makes it even sweeter. Minnesota native, Jordan Schroeder, tallied his first of the season after Charlie Coyle fed him with a slick pass. That backhand shot stunned Ryan Miller.

Next up is Jason Pominville’s 10th of the season, a power play goal against Vancouver. Thomas Vanek found a streaking Pominville for an empty-net backdoor shot, which Pominville blasted home from one knee.

It was a quick start for the Wild on Valentine’s Day when Vanek tapped home a pass from Mikael Granlund for an easy backdoor play.

Which play will you choose this week?
