It’s time once again for Wild fans to decide the DQ Bakes Play of the Week based on three of the best efforts provided by Wild players from recent games. Voting ends Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
The winning vote getter for the week of Nov. 30 was Jason Pominville’s slapshot goal against the Dallas Stars, his first of the season. Fans went nuts cheering for Pominville at Xcel Energy Center and it translated online as “Pommer” won the vote easily.
This week’s nominees are:
PLAY #1 Double Duby (Dec. 1, 2015 at CHI) Devan Dubnyk was shining more than the freshly cleaned second period ice at United Center as he turned away an initial shot by the Blackhawks Marcus Kruger as well as the immediate follow-up from Marko Dano.
PLAY #2 Brodin Sacrifice (Dec. 1, 2015 at CHI) Jonas Brodin came to the rescue in Chicago in the waning moments with the Blackhawks having pulled their goalie for the extra attacker. Jonathan Toews charged the net from the right side and the puck moved from him to the left of the goal and onto the stick of Artemi Panarin with plenty of net to shoot at. Brodin dropped to a knee and just redirected the shot, saving the one-goal lead for Minnesota.
PLAY #3 Dumba Powered-Up (Dec. 3, 2015 vs TOR) Matt Dumba scored the only goal of the game on the power play during the second period. His one-timer blast, set up by Jared Spurgeon, beat the Maple Leafs in a 1-0 game.
