Over the last few seasons, Wild.com wanted help from fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Play each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. Last season, Zach Parise’s stellar wrister against Calgary won top honors, defeating Mikko Koivu’s tic-tap-tip-in play against Winnipeg.
Last week, Nino Niederreiter's game-winning goal against his old team to cap off an amazing rally against the Islanders won top honors.
Nino Niederreiter once again is in the top plays. His penalty shot against Chicago was his first career penalty shot, and it was definitely one to remember as he made a few moves and backhanded the puck past Antti Raanta.
Kyle Brodziak picked up the puck along the boards and toe dragged a shot that tied the game for the Wild against Boston. Next we have Jason Zucker’s 12th goal of the year. His speed paid off as he picked up the puck near the Wild’s blueline and created a two-on-two with Jason Pominville, who fed Zucker in the slot before going top shelf on Pekka Rinne.
