Over the last few seasons, Wild.com wanted help from fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Play each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. Last season, Zach Parise’s stellar wrister against Calgary won top honors, defeating Mikko Koivu’s tic-tap-tip-in play against Winnipeg.
Last week, "Handy Man Prosser" won top honors as Nate Prosser set up Justin Fontaine for a sweet goal.
Nino Niederreiter leads the Wild in goals this season, and he continued to show why when he scored the game-winning goal against his old team to cap off an amazing rally against the Islanders.
Once again, Jason Zucker scored a timely goal thanks to his speed and accuracy. He sped past David Schlemko and put a beautiful backhand past Devan Dubnyk and the Coyotes.
Next, we have Zach Parise in the third spot this week. His power-play goal against Arizona in the third period was perfect timing as he tied the game and helped the Wild gain two points against the Coyotes. Patience paid off for Parise as he waited backdoor and knocked home a pass by Jason Pominville.
