Wild owns seven picks in 2009 Entry Draft

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild currently owns seven picks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, including the 12th selection in the first round.

The 2009 NHL Entry Draft will be held June 26-27 at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.

The first round of the draft will be held on Friday, June 26 live on Versus starting at 6:00 p.m. CDT. Rounds 2-7 will be held on Saturday, June 27 starting at 9:00 a.m. (CDT) on the NHL Network.

MINNESOTA WILD 2009 NHL ENTRY DRAFT CHOICES
Round 1 – 12th overall
Round 4 – #99, #103, #116
Round 5 – #133
Round 6 – #163
Round 7 - #193

Wild Draft Notes:
•    The Wild traded its 2009 second round draft pick and RW Ryan Jones to the Nashville Predators in exchange for D Marek Zidlicky (7/1/08).
•    Minnesota traded its 2009 third round draft pick and its 2008 first round pick (#24) to New Jersey in exchange for the 23rd pick in the 2008 Entry Draft and selected D Tyler Cuma (6/20/08).
•    The Wild acquired a 2009 fourth round pick (#99) from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for LW Brian Rolston (6/29/08).
•    Minnesota acquired a 2009 fourth round pick (#116) from the Boston Bruins and RW Petr Kalus in exchange for G Manny Fernandez (7/1/07).
