Wild-Oilers MoGro Challenge

by Staff Writer / Minnesota Wild

The Minnesota Wild and Edmonton Oilers have already battled it out twice this year with both games needing extra time to get decided (if you'll recall, the Wild won both of those contests). The Wild and Oil are both sitting at the top of the Northwest Division as well (we don't need to remind you which team is in first).

There are two more on-ice battles between the two clubs in the month we affectionately refer to as "MOvember": November 25 when the Wild celebrates the month of moustaches, and November 30 when the Oilers and Wild conclude the month with a final meeting.

While we know the good guys will win the on-ice battles, we've got another one that we consider a must-win. For the remainder of the month, five Wild players will be paired up against five Oiler players in a battle of the best dusters.

The photos of each combatant will be posted on Facebook, and fans are encouraged to comment on which player owns the best 'stache. But the way we'll judge the winner is to see which team can raise the most Movember donations from now until the end of the month.

The first pairing features the "Mo Masters" contestants. Darcy Hordichuk will represent the Oilers, while Cal Clutterbuck, who owns one of the most famous 'staches in all the land (it even has its own Twitter account: @Clutterstache) will represent the State of Hockey.

We all know the winner of this one, but the only way to know for sure is to have you donate to Cal's Movember page right here.
