The Minnesota Wild will hold its seventh annual Food Drive, in partnership with Toyota, at the Wild’s game on Wednesday, Nov. 13 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Wild players and Nordy will deliver the food in Toyota vehicles to Second Harvest Heartland’s Maplewood warehouse on Thursday, Nov. 14 after practice.
At the game on Nov. 13, Second Harvest Heartland volunteers will collect non-perishable food and monetary donations at Gates 1-4 from 5:30pm until the middle of the first period. Fans can also donate online at SHH’s virtual fundraising page, located here: www.2harvest.org/goto/mnwild2013.
In Minnesota the demand for emergency food has doubled in our region since 2005, and one in 10 people experience the stress of hunger on any given day, even though there is more than enough food available to feed everyone. For every $5 donated in the Minnesota Wild Toyota Food Drive, Second Harvest can provide 18 meals to the most vulnerable members of our community.
