SAINT PAUL -- Each season, the Minnesota Wild joins forces with the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players' Association for Hockey Fights Cancer™, an initiative to raise money and awareness for hockey's most important fight. This year, for every Hockey Fights Cancer blanket fans purchase at Wild home games on Oct. 29 and Nov. 15, a blanket will be donated to local cancer centers while supplies last.

Minnesota's efforts will culminate on "Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Night" on Tuesday, Nov. 15 when the Wild faces the Calgary Flames at 7 p.m. CT. Fans attending the game are encouraged to wear lavender to show their support. The night will be dedicated to supporting the cause in numerous ways:

• Wild players will wear lavender Hockey Fights Cancer jerseys during on-ice warmups, which will be auctioned off starting Nov. 15 on the official Minnesota Wild NHL Auctions page
• Volunteers will collect new, unused pajamas at entrance gates of Xcel Energy Center prior to the game, which will be donated to local pediatric hospitals.
• The nightly Split-the-Pot raffle will benefit HopeKids, which provides support for families who have a child with cancer or other life-threatening medical condition.
• The game's Bench Buddies, BMO Harris® Bank Flag Bearer and Zamboni® ride experiences will be donated to pediatric cancer families.
• Dasherboard signage around the rink will be colored lavender for the night.
• Children's Hospital Cancer Kids Fund will be presented with proceeds from the Minnesota Wild Foundation's annual gala "Wild About Children."
