Wild Foundation 2011 Draft Auction Starts Friday

The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild today announced a Minnesota Wild Foundation 2011 Draft Auction will be held on starting on Friday, June 10 thru Sunday, July 10. The auction is being held in conjunction with the 2011 NHL Entry Draft that is being held at Xcel Energy Center June 24-25. Available in the Minnesota Wild Foundation 2011 Draft Auction is the original painting, Starry Night, by Terrence Fogarty along with autographed replica jerseys from the top players of nearly every team in the NHL. Proceeds will benefit the Minnesota Wild Foundation.

The following autographed jerseys will be available in the Minnesota Wild Foundation 2011 Draft Auction: Ryan Getzlaf (Anaheim Ducks), Evander Kane (Atlanta Thrashers), Ryan Miller (Buffalo Sabres), Miikka Kiprusoff (Calgary Flames), Eric Staal (Carolina Hurricanes), Marian Hossa (Chicago Blackhawks), Paul Stastny (Colorado Avalanche), Rick Nash (Columbus Blue Jackets), Loui Eriksson (Dallas Stars), Nicklas Lidstrom (Detroit Red Wings), Ales Hemsky (Edmonton Oilers), Tomas Vokoun (Florida Panthers), Anze Kopitar (Los Angeles Kings), Mikko Koivu (Minnesota Wild), Carey Price (Montreal Canadiens), Martin Erat (Nashville Predators), Ilya Kovalchuk (New Jersey Devils), Sergei Gonchar (Ottawa Senators), Jeff Carter (Philadelphia Flyers), Scottie Upshall (Phoenix Coyotes), Jordan Staal (Pittsburgh Penguins), Jaroslav Halak (St. Louis Blues), Patrick Marleau (San Jose Sharks), Steven Stamkos (Tampa Bay Lightning), Dion Phaneuf (Toronto Maple Leafs), Ryan Kesler (Vancouver Canucks) and Nicklas Backstrom (Washington Capitals).

The Terrence Fogarty original art, Starry Night, was commissioned by the Minnesota Wild to celebrate the NHL All-Star Game played at Xcel Energy Center on Feb. 8, 2004. The piece is framed and measures 29 inches high by 67 inches wide and is considered one of the most unique artifacts in All-Star Game history. Every NHL team is included in Starry Night, which features children coming together and enjoying the game on an outdoor rink. This piece is a great item for all hockey collectors and enthusiasts.
