Minnesota and Anaheim met less than two weeks ago in Southern California when the Wild won the finale of a three-game trip to the West Coast with a 2-1 victory at Honda Center.
The Wild rallied for a pair of second-period goals in that game then held on for the victory, capping a 2-0-1 trip to California.
Minnesota is coming off a 4-3 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night and is 1-1-0 on its current homestand. The victory assured the Wild wouldn't lose consecutive games in regulation, an occurrence that has happened just once this season and not since back-to-back defeats on Nov. 1 and 5.
The Wild -- 7-2-1 all-time on Hockey Day -- hasn't lost consecutive games in any matter since the first week of December.
"I think [halting losing streaks before they start is] the most important thing," said Wild coach Bruce Boudreau. "I don't classify losing one as a losing streak, but you certainly like being able to bounce back every night that you lost a game. It's not going to happen all the time, but you'd certainly like to make an effort of it."
Minnesota is 6-5-1 in its past 12 games against the Ducks at Xcel Energy Center. Nine of those games have been decided by one goal.
Anaheim has been red since losing to the Wild on Jan. 8, posting a 5-0-1 record in six games, with its lone loss coming last Sunday in a 2-1 overtime defeat to the Blues.
The Ducks defeated Colorado 2-1 in Anaheim on Thursday, a win that capped a three-game homestand. Anaheim will play at Winnipeg on Monday before returning home to play Edmonton in its final game before the All-Star break.
