Angel Foundation was founded in 2001 as a Minnesota-based non-profit charitable organization dedicated to improving the quality of life throughout the cancer experience. The Foundation is a vital community resource working to fulfill unmet non-medical needs of cancer patients and their families. The two primary areas of support include Financial Assistance and Family Educational Programs.

Angel Foundation concentrates their efforts in two areas of support: Financial Assistance and Family Educational Programs.  Financial Assistance is provided to help cancer patients and their families with basic non-medical needs and necessities not cover by insurance, such as housing, utilities, food and other living expenses.  This support helps reduce the stress of lifestyle changes and helps maintain dignity and quality of life. Family Educational Programs, Facing Cancer Together, (FaCT) are offered to families who have a parent with cancer. FaCT is provided free of charge to families to help them gain understanding, strength, and hope as they journey through the cancer experience together.

The Foundation has served more than 3,000 cancer patients, and receives donations from corporations, foundations, and many individual donors. Ongoing efforts are in place to continue increasing the number of patients served, as well as the quality of education provided.

Each year, more than 23,000 Minnesotans are diagnosed with a potentially life-threatening cancer, and more than 9,000 die from the disease. Three out of four families will experience a cancer diagnosis. Angel Foundation is unique in that it is one of the few organizations regionally or nationally that provides both financial assistance and free education and support with a focus on young families.
