The Minnesota Wild, in conjunction with Wendy’s Restaurants, announced today that participating restaurants have added the Minnesota Wild Bacon Cheeseburger to the menu in support of Minnesota Hockey. For each Minnesota Wild Bacon Cheeseburger sold through April 2007, Wendy’s will donate 25 cents to the Hockey Education Program (HEP). Last season, the program raised more than $18,000 for Minnesota Hockey.
“We’re very excited about partnering with the Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Hockey once again,” said Paul Broten, Director of Marketing for FourCrown, Inc., the local Wendy’s franchisee. “So, please stop by your local Wendy's and try this great Minnesota Wild Bacon Cheeseburger burger to support Minnesota Hockey.”
HEP aids young hockey players, coaches and parents by providing initiatives such as Fair Play, education for coaches and parents and skill development. These initiatives help coaches and parents create a more positive and fun youth hockey experience for players and children.
Wendy’s is also presenting its “Game-Day Sweepstakes” which offers youth ages 8-15 a chance to register to win 30 tickets to one of four select Wild home games, participate in an on-ice intermission with their youth team and also receive one hour of ice time at Xcel Energy Center. Registration, details and eligibility information are available at participating Wendy’s restaurants. More information is also available at Minnesota Hockey’s web site: www.minnesotahockey.org
