The Minnesota Wild released its preseason schedule today, and unlike last year, all seven games will take place in North America and in NHL arenas. Last year, the Wild closed out the preseason against Ilves Tampere in Finland before opening the season with two regular season games in Helsinki.

This year, the Wild will play seven times in September, including three home games against the Columbus Blue Jackets, St. Louis Blues and Edmonton Oilers. The Wild will hit the road for four games in Edmonton, St. Louis, Pittsburgh and Columbus.

While they won't count for squat in the standings, this year's friendlies will have some serious implications on the Wild's roster. During the news conference announcing the hiring of Head Coach Mike Yeo, it was made clear that the goal for this year is to become a younger, faster and more aggressive team that is tough to play against. That means several players that Yeo coached in Houston last year will be challenging veterans for full-time roster spots.

Plenty of players will see ice time as the team plays three games in three days from September 22 to September 24.

The complete regular season schedule is expected to be announced this week. Information on single game tickets for Wild preseason and regular season games at Xcel Energy Center will be announced later in the summer. However, Season Tickets are available now, and more information can be found here.
