MINNESOTA WILD, COMCAST ANNOUNCE SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT
SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Comcast and the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL) announced a three-year sponsorship agreement today in which Comcast becomes the exclusive basic cable, digital cable and high-speed Internet partner of the Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Swarm.
“This agreement links two great organizations together and is a natural extension of Comcast’s national broadcast agreement with the National Hockey League,” said Bill Wright, area vice president of Comcast.
“We are extremely pleased to have Comcast as a partner,” said Wild President & General Manager Doug Risebrough. “This is a collaboration of two teams committed to a great experience for fans and customers.”
The agreement with the Wild provides Comcast a marquee advertising presence within Xcel Energy Center, on the team’s radio and television broadcasts, and in other Minnesota Wild, Xcel Energy Center and RiverCentre communications outlets.
Comcast Corporation’s Outdoor Life Network (OLN) is the new national cable television home for the NHL. The OLN-NHL partnership provides an unprecedented, up-close experience of professional hockey for NHL fans. Enhancements include:
· Expanded weekly live telecasts of NHL hockey on the OLN Network
· Video on Demand (VOD) game highlights and library footage of hockey’s greatest moments with full fast-forward, rewind and replay capability through Comcast On Demand, available to all Comcast Digital Cable customers
· A robust schedule of live NHL game telecasts in exciting HDTV (high-definition TV)
· Online streaming of two live games per night, available to all Comcast High-Speed Internet customers at no additional charge (subject to local blackout)
· NHL game highlights, commentary, library footage and exciting interactive features on Comcast High-Speed Internet
Comcast will also bring Minnesota Wild fans an extensive line-up of live telecast games throughout the season on FSN North and KSTC.TV. The Wild will also be featured in crystal-clear high-definition multiple times over the coming months on INHD2 in arrangement with Fox Sports Net.
