The Minnesota Wild has activated forward Grayson Downing from Injured Reserve Non-Roster and assigned him to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Downing, 23 (4/18/92), suffered a lower-body injury at the 2015 NHL Prospects Tournament in Traverse City, Mich., in September. He recorded 36 points (21-15=36) including five power-play goals and four game-winning tallies in 38 games during his senior season at the University of New Hampshire in 2014-15. He led the Wildcats in goals and ranked second in scoring. His goal total ranked T-3rd in Hockey East and T-13th in the NCAA. The 6-foot, 200-pound native of Abbotsford, British Columbia, was signed by Minnesota to a two-year entry-level contract on March 24, 2015.
