Wild Acquires Aaron Voros From New Jersey

Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired RW Aaron Voros from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a 7th round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Voros, 25 (7/2/81), recorded 17 points (9-8=17) and 111 penalty minutes (PIM) in 39 contests with the Lowell Devils of the American Hockey League (AHL) this season.  The 6-foot-4, 205-pound forward recorded career-highs with 16 goals and 30 points in 73 games with the Albany River Rats in 2005-06.  A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Voros notched 62 points (36-26=62) and 275 PIM in 89 games during three seasons with the University of Alaska Fairbanks of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) from 2001-04 and was named to the CCHA All-Rookie Team in 2002.

He was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the 8th round (229th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.  Voros will report to the Houston Aeros.
