On a day that the Wild acquired center Mike Rupp from the New York Rangers for forwards Darroll Powe and Nick Palmieri, the team was edged on the road. Mike Smith stopped 21 shots, Lauri Korpikoski and Martin Hanzal both scored, and the Phoenix Coyotes extended their point streak to five games with a 2-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Monday night.

Korpikoski scored his fourth goal - all against Finnish goaltenders - in the first period, and Hanzal got his third in three games in the second.
