"If we can get the consistency and put an 8-2 together and then a 7-3 together, then all of the sudden, you're going into the playoffs as a hot team rather than a team where you don't know what you're getting."
The Wild is expected to get veteran reinforcements back in the form of Eric Fehr, who has missed the past three weeks of action with a lower-body injury sustained Jan. 7 in Montreal.
With Joel Eriksson Ek and Luke Kunin still back in Iowa following reassignment there last weekend, either Matt Hendricks or JT Brown will play next to Fehr and Marcus Foligno on the fourth line.
Just three points separate the third, fourth and fifth place teams in the Central Division, with the Wild currently holding the third spot with 55 points.
Dallas has 54 points with Colorado trailing at 52 points. All three teams have played 50 games.
The Stars have now won consecutive games going back to its final contest before the break, a 4-2 win over Winnipeg. Prior to that, Dallas had lost four-straight games and five of six overall.
The game Friday marks Dallas' final home game of six-straight played at American Airlines Center dating back to Jan. 12. When it plays in Nashville on Saturday, it will be the Stars' first road game in more than three full weeks.
On its current homestand, the Stars have posted a 1-4-0 record, including a 1-1 mark against divisional foes.
Jamie Benn scored Dallas' only goal on Wednesday, giving the Stars a 1-0 lead 8:39 into the game. Goaltender Ben Bishop made 30 saves to make that goal stand up.
Benn's goal was his team-leading 19th of the season and his 35 points are third-most on the club. Tyler Seguin has 18 goals and 27 assists for a team-high 45 points. Alexander Radulov also has 27 assists and 41 points.
Bishop has been outstanding when healthy, posting a 17-12-2 record to go with a 2.29 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage.
