Last year, Wild.com wanted help from our fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help us select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Play each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. Last year's winner was Jason Zucker's first-career goals against Detroit. We had so much fun, we're going to do it again this year.
This season, we're getting help selecting the top play each week from our friends at Dairy Queen. Last week's winner was Darcy Kuemper, who made a string of kick saves and capped off the play with a glove snag against Los Angeles.
Last week was the goaltender's game, but this week we have a trio of nice goals earning nominations. Up first, Mikael Granlund makes a heady play against Edmonton, stealing the puck and finding his buddy Jason Pominville for a goal. Up next, Erik Haula converts on an individual effort for his first-career NHL goal against Dallas. Finally, Elk River native Nate Prosser scores the game-winner on Hockey Day Minnesota after his hometown hosted the high school games.
