Last year, Wild.com wanted help from our fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help us select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Play each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. Last year's winner was Jason Zucker's first-career goals against Detroit. We had so much fun, we're going to do it again this year.
This season, we're getting help selecting the top play each week from our friends at Dairy Queen. Last week's winner was Mikko Koivu's game-tying buzzer beater at Colorado.
This week, Koivu gets a chance to contribute in back-to-back weeks, a blueliner scores a very important goal and a goaltender makes another big glove save. Up first, Koivu makes a no-look pass right to the tape of Jason Pominville for a goal against Philadelphia. Up next, Marco Scandella scores his first goal of the season, a game winner with minutes remaining against Chicago. Finally, netminder Josh Harding makes another one of his patented glove saves, this time robbing Joe Pavelski of the Sharks.
