Last year, Wild.com wanted help from our fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help us select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Plays each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. We had so much fun, we're going to do it again this year.
This season, we're getting help selecting the top play each week from our friends at Dairy Queen and looking for fans to vote for the Ri-DQ-ulous Play of the Week.
The Week 12 winner was Jason Pominville, who showed some late-game heroics against Columbus scoring the game-tying goal with just a minute left in regulation.
This week, Pominville again gets a nomination, along with a hard-working goal and a beauty on the backhand. The first Top Play nod goes to Pominville, who rifled home a one-timer against the Calgary Flames. Up next was a second and third effort from Zach Parise, who found himself on a backdoor pass. Finally, Pierre-Marc Bouchard goes backhand shelf on a breakaway. Nasty.
