Last year, Wild.com wanted help from our fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help us select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Plays each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. We had so much fun, we're going to do it again this year.
This season, we're getting help selecting the top play each week from our friends at Dairy Queen and looking for fans to vote for the Ri-DQ-ulous Play of the Week.
The Week 11 winner was Charlie Coyle, who finished off a nice power play passing goal.
This week we have a little variety with a huge save, a big hit and a clutch goal. First up is Niklas Backstrom’s breakaway pad save on Chicago’s Patrick Kane. The next play up for nomination is Cal Clutterbuck’s shoulder check that sent James Wisniewski, of Columbus, airborne. Finally, Jason Pominville scored a late game-tying power play goal, for his first home tally as a member of the Wild.
