Last year, Wild.com wanted help from our fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help us select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Plays each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. We had so much fun, we're going to do it again this year.
Last week’s winner was Mikko Koivu, who scored an overtime winner to lift the Wild over the Florida Panthers.
The Wild wrapped the season last week, so the winner of Week 27 will get into our summer Top Plays Tournament. The tourney will be voted on by you, the fans. So check in at Wild.com every Monday throughout the summer until the Top Play of the Year is selected. First up is Cal Clutterbuck’s tip-in goal against the Blackhawks. Clutterbuck’s goal sent the game into overtime and was his 100th career point with the Wild. The next play also came against Chicago; Josh Harding makes a diving glove save to rob Patrick Sharp of a goal. The final nominee came in the season finale, when Dany Heatley scored his team-leading 24th goal of the season by banking in a shot off the leg of Phoenix goalie, Mike Smith:
