Last year, Wild.com wanted help from our fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help us select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Plays each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. We had so much fun, we're going to do it again this year.
Last week's winner came from a guy who hadn't scored a goal for the Wild thus far this season. That changed when Carson McMillanfinished off a pretty breakaway to score the game-winner against the Colorado Avalanche on January 24.
This week, the nominees come from guys who played on the same line all week. Dany Heatley scored one of his two goals against Nashville by knocking a pass down and batting it out of the air. Heatley's two linemates connected on the other two plays. Nick Johnson made a power rush from behind the net for a tap in for Kyle Brodziak for one. The other was a Johnson to Brodziak connection again, this time with Brodziak having to do a little more work to finish off a breakaway with a shoulder fake and tuck in:
