Last year, Wild.com wanted help from our fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help us select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Plays each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. We had so much fun, we're going to do it again this year.
This week, the defensive plays will take a backseat to two big goals and a massive hit. Dany Heatley's wraparound goal that forced overtime against Nashville is the first play in contention. The other goal will be Jarod Palmer going upstairs againt Nikolaik Khabibulin for his first career NHL goal. Those two tallies will be up against Brad Staubitz who combatted Theo Peckham's flying leap with a cold shoulder that sent the Oiler defenseman back to his bench:
