CHICAGO COACH Trent Yawney
Friday, January 20, 2006 versus Minnesota
Was it a distraction with Jassen going out of the game. “Nah, not at all. You don’t want to see them get hit in the head like that, but it’s not a distraction.”
What did you see that was not good. “Well obviously we beat ourselves. They probably scored one goal, it was a nice goal which was the fourth one. The other ones were unforced errors on our part. Their goalie played well. He made the big saves when they needed them.”
The team has struggled as of late. Can you put your finger on what you’ve seen out there.
“I think it’s a lot of things. We’ve had some injuries. The guys have played well but couldn’t score at times. Sometimes we don’t play for 60 minutes. We’ve got to play for 60 minutes and we’ve got to be smarter. The last two games, we can’t expect to take so many penalties and expect to win a game.”
You didn’t come back into the game.
“It took the whole rest of the first period to stitch me up. When it happened I was a little groggy. I wasn’t knocked out, but I got a little dizzy and I figured I wouldn’t do any good out there anyway.”
